TC 26. 2.1898 The beautiful Statue placed just inside the main entrance to the Reserve has been considerably damaged from the attacks of youths. TC 5. 3.1898 The new cannon is to be erected near the Statue. The statue has been most shamefully knocked about.... TC 27. 8.1898 Council takes steps to have the Statue repaired, if possible.
