Joseph Abbott
Joseph Abbott arrived at Sandy Creek in 1857 and almost immediately opened up the Great Western Reef. This reef became the focus of his activities at Tarnagulla for many decades, although he was also active in other mining localities as well as operating a boot and shoe store in Commercial Road.
