Arthur Whimpey & Ella Alexander Wedding 29 Sep 1923

The Whimpey wedding photo was interesting because he was one of 10 children, came back from the war, was in the other war photos, and had a war injury limp, he never talked about it though. Was a keen RSL member. Moved to Melbourne for work as a Carpenter. Ella was one of 5 children, a music teacher at Tarnagulla originally, and played the organ in her Church most of her life, they both enjoyed the Tarnagulla Reunions in Tarnagulla and Melbourne for many years. The Whimpey family were a large extended family in early Tarnagulla and Newbridge, having originated in Somerset, and were staunch Methodists whereas the Alexanders were Scottish heritage with Presbyterian faith. They married in 1923 in the Presbyterian Church, Tarnagulla.
