Inquest report on the death of Joseph Venables, 1871
This is the inquest report on the death of Joseph Venables who was killed in 1871 falling down a shaft. The Venables family lived in Doctor's Gully, and Joseph had a good reef claim on Growler's Hill. He fell down a nearby deep shaft while removing timbers for firewood.
