Pier at the Tarnagulla Reservoir, c1909
This is a nice image of the pier looking south-east. The pier was constructed primarily to enable access to and cleaning of the outlet syphon, and the inspection crane's boom can be seen on the right.
Parts of the pier are beginning to collapse with age, and the tilt on the far side of the deck can clearly be seen.
Also under the far side of the deck can faintly be see the Council's rowing boat, the 'Harvest Queen'.
Improvements to Tarnagulla's water supply in the 1950s rendered the old reservoir redundant. The pier fell into disrepair and slowly collapsed over the years, finally disintegrating during the 1970s.
