David Gordon records this was the former Bank of Australasia. It was called Tarna Motors for many years to the early 1980s and used for petrol pumps & garage with a dwelling behind. The buildings had verandas in the 50's, with mostly mudbrick in the rear and behind the entrance crossover to the garage there was a pit, dug for mechanical repairs.
10 years before this photo was taken, Ampol in Bendigo supplied the petrol and the Shire of Bet Bet charged a nominal $4 p.a licence fee, in 1975. The right hand side building was demolished in about 1990. Land size was 87ft x 200ft, with land value & CIV approximately $60.00 and $5000 respectively, in 1975. The rates were $83 p.a. in 1975 which included water. The Caravan Park commenced operation in about 1990 and began to sell petrol there at the caravan park, I think.
