Yorkshire Mine Boiler, c.1925
The Yorkshire Mine had been closed for almost 20 years by the time of this photograph, and the old boiler and other unkempt relics do not reflect well on what was once an important, up-to-date and well maintained mining operation.
It is likely that the old equipment in the photo -such as it is - was being used at the time to conduct a small eucalyptus distillery, although there is no record of this in the available files.
The gentleman is a member of the Andrew Addison family. He once worked in the mine.
